About Edible Horizons

With over a decade of organic market farming throughout the Pacific Northwest, Edible Horizons has honed the craft of vegetable, herb and edible flower propagation.

By collaborating with local seed growers, I’ve selected varieties perfect for your Portland vegetable gardens.

I have been planting Edible Horizon starts for five years and they always produce healthy and very productive vegetables. Thank you for making it easy to grow healthy goodness!

More about Kji:

As a kid growing up in the suburbs of Portland, I really had no direct connection to my food. All I knew was that it somehow showed up in stores or in front of me on a plate. But it wasn’t until after a cross-country bike tour through our vast agricultural land that I even knew how disconnected I really was. I began asking questions. Where did my food come? Who grows my food? How does my food grow? What does it look like before it shows up in the grocery store? Is that a weed or a radish? Radishes are related to broccoli?

And so the journey began to answer these questions and so much more. For the next 12 years I would have opportunity to work with some of the best organic market farmers in the Pacific Northwest. Gleaning as much knowledge as possible and eventually operating my own farm. Upon returning to Portland, I noticed an urban food revolution happening.

People not only wanted to connect with local farmers through CSA’s and farmers markets, they wanted to grow their own food!!! This began the transition from farmer to nursery grower. I now propagate those same wonderful veggies and herbs that I grew on the farm, for home gardeners. Empowering them to grow these treasures for themselves.
